You will see that our list includes Wheelchairs and it is interesting to note that we have over 125 of these currently out on loan and there is still a continuing demand. If you have one of our wheelchairs which is no longer being used, please arrange its return so that it may be put back into circulation. Also, should you be in a position to donate a Wheelchair or any other equipment, we would be pleased to hear from you.
I am sure that you will already be aware that we are able to offer this service as a result of generous donations made to the Trust by Lodges and Chapters in the Province and we take this opportunity to record our grateful thanks and assurance that this is faithfully applied.
It was announced in the National Press that for an electrically powered wheelchair, the waiting time for supply under the NHS is 5 years. I am pleased to be able to record that thanks to the generous donations we have received, we now have 24 of these on our books.

Westcliff-On-Sea RMBI 2007 Holiday

By W.Bro David Mills, Chairman, Southend & Essex Masonic Welfare Trust.

Some twenty five annuitants from the RMBI arrived on 28th July 2007 for a two week holiday in Westcliff-On-Sea. The annuitants were accommodated at the Westcliff Hotel which is a splendid Hotel close to the seafront with
spectacular views over the Thames Estuary.

Ten local Lodge widows joined the holiday makers on their daily programme of entertainment, which was sponsored by generous donations gratefully receivedand included amongst other things a visit to the House of Commons, a show Mary Poppins, Bressingham Gardens and Steam Museum.
The Trust members and their delightful ladies provided the usual daily care and support during the holiday.
We would like to acknowledge our sincere and grateful thanks to the following Lodges/Chapter namely; St Clements Lodge, Southchurch Hall, Leigh Chase, Hadleigh Castle, Thames Estuary/Mouth/Tide, Albert Lucking Chapter, Braintree Centre, Upminster, Southend, and PEDOKC, Stisted, Hamilton Court for their generous and continued support during the holiday.
The Farewell Evening was held at Saxon Hall and was hosted by The Board of Management and Southend & Essex Masonic Welfare Trust and attended by representatives from sponsoring Lodges/Chapter/Centres.
We were honoured by the presence of Madam Mayor and her escort of the Borough of Southend-On-Sea. The R W Provincial Grand Master John Webb and Diane and Dr Reuffort and Maggie from the RMBI.
The holiday makers thanked everyone concerned for a fabulous holiday.

Our ability to supply equipment for Essex Masons and their immediate family who are recovering from surgery or recuperating from illness and to entertain the Annuitants during their annual holiday is only possible as a result of the generous donations made by Lodges and Chapters.

Please be assured that your donations to the Trust are gratefully received and I give my personal assurance, they are faithfully applied.
